Türker Renewable Energy Investment Inc. expands to Europe

(ANKARA) – Türker Yenilenebilir Enerji Yatırım A.Ş. is undertaking its first international energy investment in Moldova. The 50.4 MW Cotujeni Wind Energy Project has joined the Türkerler portfolio.

Türker Yenilenebilir Enerji Yatırım A.Ş. signed the agreement for the acquisition of Globeco Windenergy S.R.L. and Delta Investments Nord S.R.L., adding the 50.4 megawatt (MW) Cotujeni Wind Energy Project in Moldova to its portfolio.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Kazım Türker, Chairman of the Board of Türkerler Holding, and Ali Kındap, President of the Renewable Energy Group.

Speaking after the signing ceremony, Türkerler Holding Chairman Kazım Türker said, 'As Türkerler, we are determined to grow our renewable energy investments not only in Türkiye but also on an international scale. This project in Moldova is a concrete expression of our vision for a sustainable future and our belief in clean energy.'

Ali Kındap, Chairman of the Board of Türkerler Renewable Energy, emphasized that the project is not merely an investment but also represents a strategic energy-based partnership between the two countries, stating: 'For us, there is a simple but powerful truth: wind is a clean and domestic resource. This project in Moldova symbolizes that Türkerler has now become a cross-border player in energy. We are bringing Türkiye's experience in the field of renewable energy to Moldova. Through this project, Turkish engineering will merge with local know-how in Moldova. By means of training programs, technical workshops and collaborations, we will build a long-term climate of trust and economic cooperation between Türkiye and Moldova.'

Noting that they have adopted the principles of full compliance with environmental regulations and transparency, Kındap concluded his remarks with the following words:

'We analyze the environmental impacts of the site from the very beginning and meticulously plan preventive measures. We will keep the plant's efficiency high through regular maintenance and monitoring systems. In addition, we will share all our reporting in a transparent manner, in accordance with both Moldovan legislation and international standards.'

With this agreement, Türker Yenilenebilir Enerji Yatırım A.Ş. has become the owner of its first overseas energy asset. Once the project is commissioned, it is targeted to generate enough energy annually to meet the electricity needs of approximately 90,000 households.

This investment will contribute to Moldova's sustainable development, to the strengthening of Türkiye–Moldova economic relations, and to the development of lasting cooperation between the two countries in the energy field.

Within the scope of the project, local employment will be created during the construction and operation processes; a strong multiplier effect will be generated by prioritizing work with local companies in areas such as maintenance, service and logistics. The project will also help reduce carbon emissions by substituting clean wind energy for a portion of the electricity produced from fossil fuels.

Türker Yenilenebilir Enerji Yatırım A.Ş. positions among its core priorities the adoption of a strong international sustainability approach in line with the European Union's sustainability principles, encompassing environmental standards, occupational health and safety, and transparent reporting.
